Will this get me tough for football?

Okay so practice started bout a month ago and I can’t hit. All my team mates laugh and say “haha robert cant hit why is he playin defense’. It hurts my feelings. So usually when I get home from practice or on the weekends I run into a tree. Like over and over. It hurts my shoulder and I think I strained something cuz its so sore I can barely type.

I also go to wrestling practices on weekends even though i dont wrestle I just let like 250lb kids use me as a tackling dummy. almost twisted my spleen so yeah

Will this get me tough? I am willing to try anything just not any of those protein shits

Well, you can’t really train to be tough, you either are or you’re not. If it’s fear of hitting or getting hit, you suck it up and hit and take what you got coming to you and get up and live to play another down. What you’re doing won’t get you tough, just sore and injured. If it’s a matter of you hit and try as hard as you can, but.youre just.not strong enough, put in work at the weight room, simple. Toughness is almost always mental, and if what your teammates say to you really gets to you, you’re just not that tough. You build that up by going through things in life that you have ro overcome and get through, hardships to be exact. I’m not saying give up, but you’re not mentally tough enough for football, so you.may have to.find some ways to.help that. Most guys in the football team are tough because they’re very cocky or just built up mental toughness over time. You need to do something of that sort.
